Elevated Mixers Sazerac

Elevated Mixers Sazerac

The Sazerac is an internationally renowned classic cocktail with its origins dating back to the mid-1800s in New Orleans. The cocktail was originally made with cognac, however, over the years rye whiskey has become the more popular spirit of choice. At Elevated Mixers, we like to honor the past and represent the present, which is why we like to use both.

Ingredients:
Rye Whiskey
Cognac or Fine Brandy
Absinthe
Ice
Glass Type:
Martini or Coupe
Method:
  1. Add ice to cocktail shaker
  2. Measure and add 1 oz of Rye Whiskey to cocktail shaker
  3. Measure and add 1 oz of Cognac to cocktail shaker
  4. Measure and add 1/2 oz of Elevated Mixers Old Fashioned to cocktail shaker
  5. Rinse glass with absinthe: Add small splash to glass.  'Swish' around glass to fully coat inside of glass.  Dump all excess absinthe from glass, so that only a thin layer around the inside remains (i.e. no pooling at bottom of glass)
  6. Shake cocktail shaker then strain into absinthe rinsed glass
  7. (Optional) Garnish with Dehydrated Lemon Wheel
