The cosmopolitan is a classic cocktail with a bit of mystery surrounding its origin. The most widely recognized claim is that it was invented by Neal Murray in 1975 while he was bartending at the Cork & Clever in Minneapolis. According to the story, Neal added a splash of cranberry juice to a Kamikaze for a patron, and when the patron tasted it she exclaimed "How cosmopolitan!" However, the cocktail didn't gain widespread popularity until the 1990s when it was featured in various metropolitan areas throughout the US, and it exploded in popularity after frequently appearing on the TV show Sex and the City.

Our version of the cosmo uses our award-winning Margarita mix to bring a unique twist to this classic cocktail. The Margarita mix adds a depth of flavor to the cosmo that pairs perfectly with the citrus vodka and cranberry juice.

Ingredients:

Elevated Mixers Margarita

Citron (Lemon Flavored) Vodka

Cranberry Juice

Dehydrated Orange Wheel

Glass Type:

Martini or Coupe

Method:

Measure 1 oz of Elevated Mixers Margarita and pour into cocktail shaker
Measure 1 1/2 oz of citrus flavored vodka and pour into cocktail shaker
Add splash of cranberry juice (1/4 oz to 1/2 oz, to taste)
Strain into preferred glass (typically martini or coupe)
Garnish with Dehydrated Orange Wheel
